Second Thought (aka Ross Baker) joins Cyclene with his first release, Canal Seven – 30 minute soundscape EP seamlessly mixing electronic ambience, acoustic guitar, spoken samples, field recordings and various other sounds into a unique journey.

To finish out the year we bring you the second Cyclene remix project. This time five different members of the Cyclene community remixed two tracks from Minimal States, a project of musician Thom Carter . This compilation is the reworking of two tracks from the City of Buffalo album.

Taking part in the remix are Bubblegone, Cordell Klier, Monopole, MATT B, and Validine Chronus.

Transmissions is an ambient downtempo track produced by Detroit based musician, Matt B. Originally conceived and preformed as a live performance, Matt B. gives you a listening experience perfect for an autumn with winter on the horizon evening.

Our 34th release comes from Richard Sudney (aka Monopole). Continuity embraces intricate beats and glitches mixed with audio recordings of encounters. Continuity takes the listener through audio photo album of moments from past and those yet to be recorded.

Also coming up after the holiday are two new releases. One from Monopole who returns to Cyclene with his release,”Continuity.” The second comes from another mitten state resident, Matt B. Matt will debut with a down tempo set titled, “Transmission.” Please look forward to these release later this week.

Finally, in mid-December we’ll be release an album of remixes that we did for Minimal States, aka Thom Carter. Here’s some info about Thom. Look for the release in few weeks:

Minimal States is an electronic music project by Thom Carter started in late 2008. Using synths, field recordings, self-written software and a laptop, the music combines elements of ambient, generative, glitch and IDM.

He has released albums with the Test Tube, Clinical Archives and Digital Kunstrassen labels.

The 32nd release on Cyclene comes from Philadelphia musician and designer, Lee Mansfield, aka Low Lit Art.

Utilizing found sound, sequenced percussion and washes of noise “The Sibley Family Tree” traces the lives of six generations of artists from the nineteenth century logging camps of the Pacific Northwest to the early sixties San Francisco pop art gallery scene to a future vision of the BosWash megalopolis and everywhere in between.

We put together a live audio visual show featuring four Cyclene Artists. Ambit (visuals by Joe Bauer) and Bubblegone (w/ video projection) will be performing live with video performances from incite/ and non_descript.

The show starts at 9pm at the Dreamland Theater in Ypsilanti, MI. Admission is $2.

Non_descript returns to Cyclene with a wonderful new album. Each track depicts recordings form their place of origin.

Bubblegone’s 5th netlabel release, “Unless you once feel,” is a reflection on the moment of emotion we feel that defines a memory. The songs are melodic, ambient, and sometimes a bit dusty.

Steve Curtin returns to Cyclene with a netlabel release. Produced using a home brew modular analog synthesizer and Wiard modules, “Sounds from the Lab” takes you on a hand crafted journey through electronic sound. These 14 vignette of beeps and pulses are blurred, blended and stretched through space allowing your mind to travel.
